A friend of mine offered this great recipe for “roach cookies” to rid your living space of the pesky roaches. They work great, last a long time, and are inexpensive; the biggest downside is that they do look like cookies so you want to be extremely careful when using them around young children.
Take equal parts boric acid [from drug store] and Eagle brand canned milk
[roaches love its sweet fat] and mix into a dough. If too wet, add a little
flour; if too dry, add a little water. Shape into “cookies” and distribute
in roach traffic areas–under sinks, behind the frig, behind a desk, etc.
They remain effective for years.
I put these out before going on vacation once and returned to a house whose
floors were covered with dead roaches. I haven’t had any trouble since and
rarely see a roach.
